Psych 214 and related courses — a re-organization

1. Psych 214 will be 3 credits only.
   It will be cross-listed as Cogst 214.
2. Psych 614 will be 5 credits and will include the three (MWF) weekly lectures of Psych 214 AND the Monday afternoon section.
   It will be cross-listed as Cogst 614.
3. Cogst 501 will be 2 credits, and will be IDENTICAL to the Monday section of Psych 614.
   It will be renamed "Issues in Biological Information Processing" and will have the prerequisite "Simultaneous enrollment in Psych 214 or permission of instructor".

The students should consider the following guidelines when making their choice:

• UNDERGRADUATES who want 3 credits should enroll in Psych 214 (or Cogst 214)
• UNDERGRADUATES who want 5 credits should enroll in Psych 214 AND Cogst 501.
• GRADUATE STUDENTS should enroll in Psych 614 (or Cogst 614), or, BY PERMISSION, in Cogst 501.
